Christ-Centered Christmas -- Day 4
Santa lives at the North Pole...JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh...JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year...JESUS is an ever present help
You have to wait in line to see Santa...JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap...JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?"...JESUS knew your name before you were born. Not only does He know your name, He knows your past, future and everything else.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly...JESUS has a heart full of love.
Santa says, "You better not cry"...JESUS says, "Cast all your cares on Me for I care for you."
Santa's little helpers make toys...JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes, and builds mansions.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree...JESUS became our gift and died on a tree.
THINK
What are the benefits of focusing ourselves and our families on Christ instead of on Santa?
What will you focus on this Christmas season?
Jesus was born to die for you and your sins. How does this knowledge increase the significance of Christmas?
PRAY
Thank Jesus for dying on the cross for your sins
Confess to God, if necessary, being more Santa-centered with your family than Christ-centered
Ask God to focus you on Himself more fully this Christmas season
APPLY
If you have children still in the home, come up with ideas to make this Christmas as Christ-centered as possible
Consider going through the TABLE TALKS holiday devotional with them
