What God Wants from You - Part 1

For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen. And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. ~ Romans 11:36-12:2

From these amazing verses, we can isolate three things God wants from us, and the first of these three is this: The Lord wants you to give Him GLORY.

Look at Romans 11:36 again. For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.

Do you see it there? We were created by God to give Him glory! We exist for that purpose.

Psalm 44:8 states, O God, we give glory to you all day long and constantly praise your name.

Here we see that not only should we be giving God glory every day, but we should also be giving it to Him all day, every day.

Building on this, Romans 6:13 tells us, Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.

Not only should we be giving God glory all day, every day, but we should be doing so with all our being. Our whole body should be an instrument that when played gives glory to God. Likewise, our whole body should be a tool that, when placed in the Lord’s hands, produces glory.

Finally, Revelation 1:6 informs us that, [Jesus] has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

Get this now. We are not only to give God glory all day, every day; and we are not only to give God glory with all that we are; but we will do so always.

Giving glory to God will be done from everlasting to everlasting.

So, are you ready? Let's give God some glory today!
