I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. ~ Ephesians 1:19,20 (NLT)
When my son, Kyle, was young, he was given a remote control Mustang Cobra from his grandparents.
This was a sharp looking car about twenty inches long, with a cool paint job, and totally decked out.
Kyle loved to play with that car—making it do spin outs, creating ramps for it, and just plain gunning it in a straight line to see how fast and far it could go.
There were, however, two BIG problems with this car. First, the battery lasted only about 15 to 20 minutes, then it would die and need to be charged for several hours. Second, once the car got about 75 feet away, it would loose the signal from the remote.
Both of these things made it difficult to get the most out of the car.
Similarly, in the above Scripture, we are told that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to us. Unfortunately, we cannot get the most out of that power when those same two things happen.
First, if we do not spend consistent time in God's Word and prayer, we will have not have the "charge" we need to do anything.
And second, if we stray too far from the Father’s presence by Tokyo drifting along with the world, we will die out and nothing of eternal value will happen through us.
So stay charged my friends and always keep one hand in the Father's. If you do, what you accomplish today will truly be incredible!
