Christ-Centered Christmas -- Day 7
Talk about ordinary. Jesus’ mother was just a peasant teen. His step-dad was just a carpenter. They were so poor, in fact, that they could not even afford to sacrifice a lamb to consecrate their first-born son to the Lord. Rather, they opted for two birds. (Leviticus 12:8 tells us...If a woman cannot afford to bring a sheep, she must bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons…)
Further, Jesus was not born in a palace but in a stable, nor was He born in a major city but rather in a backwater town. His first covering was not a gold-trimmed blanket but cloth ripped into strips. He was not surrounded by comfort at His birth but by cold, by hay, and by the filth and smell of barnyard animals.
In spite of all that, think of the extraordinary things He did! Think of what extraordinary gifts we can have this Christmas because of Him!

Looking at verses 1, 2, 9, 10, and 11; what can be ours because of Christ?
Look at verses 15-17 and key on the word “gift.” What gifts can be ours because of Christ?
How has Christ showed Himself extraordinary in your life?
What extraordinary things can you do for others this Christmas?
PRAY
Thank Christ for the extraordinary things He has done
Confess to God, if necessary, neglecting the extraordinary gifts that can be yours because of Christ
Ask God to use you in extraordinary ways this Christmas
Ask God to bless those who need His special touch
APPLY
As you will read tomorrow, Christ said His followers would be able to do greater things than even He did while on earth. With that in mind, pray and ask God to do something extraordinary through you this Christmas
